The Experiment

Here is an experiment if you will on the power of the subconscious mind. It was back in a university lecture when I was studying psychology, that the subject of the self-fulfilling prophecy and how one's optimism or pessimism affects performance came up.

The talk was interesting I didn't really think much more of it until a year later when I started to connect the dots that our thoughts and feelings determine our beliefs and our beliefs determine our actions and our actions determine our future.

Pessimism

the experimentIt was in 2013 after a breakup and losing yet another job ( the 6th one that year, I really hated sales) that I came to the realization that my pessimism had caused it all to happen.

I told my friend I said "do you know I truly believe our thoughts create our future" he goes, "Oh, like The Secret?"

Now I never even heard of The Secret other than the spoof Simpsons did a while back, you know the one where Edna loses her job and Bart buys her that book "The Answer" and she opens a cupcake shop (funny enough that episode compelled me to buy a self-development book).

But anyway I say, "No, whats that?"

"Oh, it's this film on Netflix you should watch it," and so I went to Netflix and watched it. That film confirmed what I knew deep down our thoughts create our future.

The Secret

So as you do, I watched the film every day for 30 days. You may think just think, man that guy really loves that film, but I knew the power of the subconscious mind and I knew that if you do the same thing over and over it becomes a habit and that particular thing becomes embedded in the subconscious mind.

And it worked! Well, when I say, it worked I don't mean I become a multi-millionaire and I now live on a beach sipping margaritas, but I would often say quotes from The Secret, for example when I would sign and just say "life". I would just hear Louise from The Secret say, "Life is a physical manifestation of the thoughts that go on inside your head."

So anyway I went on to attract jobs (the, they get my by jobs) but it was better than unemployment. I really wanted to become rich, I mean who doesn't?

I thought, I'm sick of my boss I'm sick of being fired all the time or scared of being fired, I want to be my own boss and run my own company. So I became obsessed with becoming rich.

I felt rich and I visualized rich. Now money did not fall from the sky but I came up with a business plan.

Buying Books

You see at this point I was buying book after book on anything mindset wise. My room was like a library I went to all my friends showing them the 8-inch novels that you could kill a person with.

"You need to read this info" they just stared at me blankly, "Can't really be bothered reading." I looked at them like they slapped me in the face I thought they are missing out.

They then just went to my computer to load up Youtube. I thought why I don't I just give people the info in video format. And from there the idea of an information product was born.

Entrepreneurship

So I turned my attention to entrepreneurship and internet marketing and I suddenly found an underground network of multimillionaires who were making millions with there laptops.

It's true, even kids do it now they play a game called fortnight and video themselves on youtube and rake it in!

So first I got excited. I thought gonna make my millions (while rubbing my hands like Delboy on only fools and horses,) but the world of internet marketing was not as easy as I thought it would be.

I built many websites, blogs to no avail and of course I felt VERY disappointed. And would you know the feeling of disappointment, anger, and frustration isn't the best mentality for an entrepreneur?. Everything just seems to get harder and harder.

And now comes the point of my post. I am going to run an experiment to see if I can run a blog that gets 10,000 readers a month, that's right 10,000. I am going to share what subconscious hacks I am doing to attract this as my reality to see if there is something to the law of attraction.
