How to Start a Gratitude Journal

Sometimes, just knowing how to start a gratitude journal can lead you to creating a thought process that leads you to attract more things to be grateful for.

Here's how I started my gratitude journal.

I decided to go to a stationary shop as I wanted some pens for work. However, I saw a really simple notepad on the shelf. I thought that might come in handy!

So I grabbed it.

how to start a gratitude journalThis will serve as a great manifestation tool to make the law of attraction work for me.

How does this work?

Well, it depends what its used for. For me, it's my gratitude journal.

An Attitude of Gratitude

I am currently following along with Rhonda Byrne's book, "The Magic" from the secret series.

She talks about daily actions to create an attitude of gratitude. Anyway, a daily action is to write in a gratitude journal for everything your grateful for.

From a personal perspective, this little action is my key to happiness.

Happiness

You see, most people see happiness as something that comes when you have everything you ever wanted. But it can't be true, can it?

You hear of rock stars falling into depression and use drugs and alcohol to numb the pain. You hear of rich people who are generally unhappy.

I've come to understand that happiness does not come from external factors. Your happy when you're generally satisfied with the way life is.

Happiness is looking at life right and being grateful for the little things. I mean we are truly lucky. When you think about it.

I mean we are alive for one, we have an internet connection we can connect with the whole world and learn what we want!

Write it Down

When you write down everything you're grateful for, it changes your perspective you start thinking, "Hey maybe my life isn't that bad."

You start becoming happier and you have more clarity and focus to achieve what you want to achieve. Plus your reprogramming your subconscious mind to look for the things that you are grateful for.

So how do I use my gratitude journal?

Well, I think of one thing I am grateful for and I think of why I am grateful for it.

For example at the top of my list is "I am grateful for my job because of the money it brings."

Things to be Grateful For

I then play a little game of word association to think of things to be grateful for.

For example when I think of my job I think of:

Hopefully, you get the point. I write down that I am grateful for xxxx because of xxxxxx.

Originally I wrote a list of ten then I add around 4 or 5 daily with word association. Once I write them. I simply read each one, feel grateful and say thank you. It generally feels really good.

I do this in the morning and when I generally feel like crap.

My recommendation is to get a little notepad, like the A6 one I have. I can carry it with me and when I feel bad I just read it.

Reprogram Your Mind

You can also use the gratitude journal to reprogram the subconscious mind.

Remember reality is an illusion based on what you subconsciously think.

I am going to start writing in my intentions.

For example, "I am grateful that I get to wake up each morning and inspire 10,000 people every day with my blog I am truly helping to change lives thank you!"

"I am grateful for the money that comes into my life every day. I am able to live a truly happy lifestyle. Thank you."

When you mix in intention gratitude (as I like to call them), your subconscious mind will start making your gratitude journal a reality!
